REMEMBERING THEM
by Bonnie Harper
They fought, they died,
They were our country’s pride.
Brave young men of World War Two.
Many now rest in some far off land.
Long forgotten is the Iwo Jima sands.
This Memorial Day as we remember,
Normandy and all the rest.
Let’s remember how young they were and
how proud as off they marched, they were
our very best.
They came from the city and also the
Farm and all were America’s son.
Team work they called it as that
Victory was won.
Because of them it hasn’t happened
In a long, long time. Thank you God for each and every
one of them who died in their prime
